Artist's Comments

and yet so far away

I know no one's gonna look at this, since the fandom for Midorikawa Yuki is extremely small, and the fandom for her amazingly emotive and beautiful oneshots is even smaller, but I love these two characters so much.

This is Gin and Hotaru, from the oneshot Hotarubi no Mori e, or 'Into the Forest of Fireflies' Light'. It's a story about a girl who is guided a masked boy when she is lost in a forest of spirits. The boy, however, cannot be touched by humans. This oneshot makes me cry every time I read it. If you'd like to read it, check it out on DragonVoice's Project Page. It'll be listed under completed projects, and it will be "story 2" in the list.

I actually uploaded this on my very last day at home before I went off to college, and have been coloring it on and off since.

Where do you find all these wonderful mangas? ;-;
You must tell me the other ones you know of, since I'm terribly manga-deprived.

Ah, I've read it before and it was lovely; I didn't cry though. l-lol maybe I'm just soulless. idk but yeah BAW small fandoms ;~;

I do like how you colored this~ the butterflies and the subtler glow was a nice touch, I think. I'm fond of how you shaded the pants, too. This is a bit older(?) so I won't bugger you about anatomy, but I do notice you tend to use blue and gray a lot in your backgrounds, maybe change it up a bit? Just a suggestion, anyways. :)

Ah, this is so pretty! I MUST read this sometime.
There is so much emotion in this picture, and the coloring makes it all the more beautiful <3

I'm so happy...! Thank you for commenting. :3 The story is, indeed, absolutely beautiful. The artist's style is a little different, but the story is just stunning. *flail* Midorikawa Yuki is one of the most talented mangaka ever. Her stories are always so lovely... *A* Thank you for commenting!

*HUGS TIGHTLY* Awwwwwwww, I'm glad you read it! AND AND *FLAIL* I'm so happy you read Nabari! *loves you* Umm... *flail* I don't actually know of very many manga, though I become disturbingly addicted to the ones I like. Immortal Rain is pretty cool, if you can get past the odd art style and the rather slow beginning of the first couple volumes, and there's also Natsume Yuujinchou and The Scarlet Chair, two manga by the author of Hotarubi no Mori E. B-but I'm an odd existence, so I don't know if those are the kind of manga you like... *flail* And if you know of any good manga, I'd love any recommendations! /SHOT FOR RAMBLING

Small fandoms make me sad. ;A; Lol, I think I'm doomed to drawing bad anatomy, though I have been doing my best to practice. ;A; Thank you so much for the lovely comment! Yeahh... I'm afraid that I'm terribly addicted to those colors. I avoid primary colors like the plague, which is odd, because I love and am amazed by the way people use colors in their own art. ^^;;

Lol, nah, I don't think you're soulless. I'm just a sap.
